Shelby Co. Mayor, UofM Pres At Odds

(Memphis, TN) — A war of words is underway between Shelby County Mayor Lee Harris and UofM President David Rudd. It erupted over the weekend after Mayor Harris said he would veto one-million dollars in county funding for a new university aquatic center. He cited UofM employees who make less than 15-dollars an hour as his reason, saying the school needs to have a plan for a livable wage. President Rudd fired back on social media yesterday saying the move by Harris could be a violation of ethics.
