Recaptured Escaped Prisoner Could Face Death Penalty

(Henning, TN) — Prosecutors say they’ll consider seeking the death penalty against an escaped prisoner accused of murdering a prison administrator. Curtis Watson was recaptured yesterday morning in Henning, after being on the run from the West Tennessee State Penitentiary since Wednesday. Watson is accused of killing Tennessee Department of Corrections official Debra Johnson. He’s also charged with sexual battery and escape.
