A California startup company has been granted 40 million dollars in incentives to build an electric car assembly plant in Memphis. The Economic Development Growth Engine for Memphis & Shelby County approved the incentives to Mullen Technologies in the form of a 15 year PILOT project. Mullen Technologies is agreeing to renovate the old Nike building at 8400 Winchester in order to build the mid-sized premium crossover electric SUV’s. The company says it will invest more than 360-million dollars into the Memphis economy and create more than 430 new jobs.
