Group Continues Fight To Prevent Pipeline

A local community fighting to prevent the building of a pipeline held a rally over the weekend. The Byhalia Pipeline would cut through portions of southwest Memphis. Activists gathered to call on the Memphis City Council to step in and pass an ordinance that would give the city more power to protect the Memphis sand aquifer from any future pipeline projects. The group says the pipeline threatens the safety of their drinking water. They say they’re willing to fight for as long as it takes.
