MPD Chief Tries To Clear Confusion On New Permitless Carry Law

Memphis Police are trying to clear up some confusion regardsing Tenenssee’s new permitless carry law that went into effect at the start of this month. Police Chief CJ Davis had strongly against the state law changing, but says he will uphold it. On Tuesday, Davis said that not just anyone can carry a gun openly in Tennessee. The person must meet the age qualification, as well as possess the handgun legally and be lawfully present in a place where he or she is allowed to carry the weapon. MPD also tweeted out a fact sheet Tuesday showing who permitless carry does and does not apply to.
