The city of Horn Lake is joning eight other cities in Mississippi making the decision to opt out of the state’s medical marijuana program. In February, Governor Tate Reeves signed the pot law, establishing medical marijuana for the entire state. However, the new law gives cities and counties the option to opt out of allowing medical marijuana businesses in their communities. The deadline to opt out is May 3rd. The city issued a statement this week saying it wants to gather more information, especially concerning zoning, before decideing to allow marijuana businesses.
