A judge has put a stop to a lawsuit against the Shelby County Election Commission… for now. The judge ruled that three groups lacked evidence to support their claims that the commission villated the state consrtitution, the state open meetingds act, and the voting rights act of 1965. The Shelby County NAACP alleged that the commission was suppressing votes by opening just one precinct at the start of early voting, while not contacting churches to see if they could open their facilities for voting.
