Health officials say COVID-19 infections and transmissions are on the rise in Shelby County. In fact, newly confirmed cases doubles in just a few days, reaching triple digits again. The Shelby County Health Department reported 116 new cases on Sunday, and 102 new cases among children in the past two weeks. There were 107 active cases of child COVID-19 on Sunday. The 7 day average for new daily cases in Shelby County was 72 on Sunday. A week ago, it was 41 and two weeks ago it was 33.
