TWRA Urges Water Safety

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is reminding all of us about safety on the water, as the unofficial start to summer kicks off on Memorial Day Weekend. On Thursday TWRA’s Jeff Robinson said that the agency is also renewing its commitment to safe boating. Everyone onboard a boat should always be wearing a life jacket. If they’re younger than 13, it’s state law to wear a life jacket. Also, carry a working fire extinguisher if you have enclosed fuel tanks on the boat. Last year, 21 people died on Tennessee Lakes and rivers. 10 people have died already this year before the summer season has even started.
