A group of Mississippi parents are suing to block the Independent Schools Infrastructure Grant Program in the state. The group called Parents for Public Schools filed the case Wednesday. In April, Governor Tate Reeves signed two bills. One creates the program and the othe rfunds it beginning next month. The lawsuit says the state constitution prohibits using public money for private schools. Legislators supporting the grant program say private schools have suffered during the COVID-19 pandemic, as have public schools.
