Memphis Songwriter Considering Suing Donald Trump For Copyright Infringement

Memphis songwreiter David Porter says he’s considering suing former president Donald Trump for using his hit song “Hold On, I’m Coming,” in Tuesday night’s announcement that he’s running for another presidential bid. Porter co-wrote the song with the late Isaac Hughes in 1966. Porter said he received a phone call from Hayes’s daughter yesterday alerting him to the copyright infringement. In the past couple years, the Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Tom Petty, and John Fogerty have all publicly requested that Trump stop using their songs.
