Shelby County Commissioners worked late intot he night Monday, attempting to get a budget passed for 2024. The big issue includes a potential porperty tax hike, but some commission members are refusing to support that, inctease supporting an increase to the wheel tax. The meeting had raged on for more than 8 hours by 11pm Monday night. Shelby County Mayor Lee Harris and top leaders from Regional One are advocating for a major renovation of the Mid-South’s only Level One Trauma Center. Their plan requires $350 million local tax dollars.
