A now- former northern Mississippi tax collector has been indicted for fraud. Larry Ropss is the former tax collector in Alcorn County, Mississippi. State Auditor Shad White confirms that Ross has pleaded guilty to false representation to defraud the government. He has since resigned his position after accusations that he created a bill of sale for a vehicle in order to lower the tax burden for an Alcorn County resident. Ross has been given a demand letter for nearly 70-thousand dollars.
