A Shelby County man is jailed for trying to kill a sheriff’s deputy. The TBI said Wednesday that 23 year old Charlie Gibson was arrested for the attempted murder of the deputy that took place on Monday. The TBI was asked to investigate the shooting on Durhamshire Drive after the deputy was injured while trying to talk to a driver, Gibson, which the deputy had pulled over. Gibson sped off, carrying the deputy away on the hood of his car. The deputy fired into the vehicle, injuring Gibson, who remains hospitalized in stable condition todayt.
