Former Memphis Mayor Willie Herenton apparently wants his old job back. Herenton released a social media video on Monday, saying he would enter the race for Memphis mayor.
Herenton also ran and lost the mayor’s race in 2019 to incumbent Jim Strickland. Herenton joins a field of 10 declared contenders. Candidates cannot pull or file qualifying petitions with the Shelby County Election Commission to get on the October ballot until May.
